Pawganics’
focus on wellness extends beyond nutrition and exercise. Health
issues that plague our human community also impact animals.
There are many organizations that support causes involving animal
health and safety. Pawganics commends these efforts to drive
the message that pets need to be valued as family members. Two
of the notable charities that we support are:
The Ontario Veterinary College:
‘Pet Trust – Special Projects Fund’ goal is
to raise over $ 10 million to fund the first animal cancer centre
in Canada, a place where pets will receive the most advanced
and effective treatments available.

The Farley Foundation:
The Farley Foundation goal is to help sick and injured
pets that belong to low-income seniors and people with disabilities.
The Foundation will cover the cost of providing necessary veterinary
care for pets belonging to seniors, or people with disabilities,
who cannot otherwise afford treatment for their pets.

Merrill Park Dog Association:
The Merrill Park Dog Association began July 14, 2008
to deal with the City of Toronto new off-leash policy. For decades
Merrill Bridge Road Park has been informally used as an off
leash park for dogs to train, run, play and socialize by dogs
owners in the neighbourhood.
The city policy permitting off leash
parks has made it necessary for dog and non dog owners in
the neighbourhood to come together to address the new regulations;
the result was the formation of the MPDA.
The first order of business for the association was to file
an application. The application has been received by the City
of Toronto Parks and Recreation Department.
A flyer with information about the
association will be circulated in the neighbourhood, or you
can read it on the following blog: www.merrillpkdogs.blogspot.com
Dog owners and non dog owners are welcome to join.
